Jaige is always looking for these
things:
- AI developers
- Professors willing to try Jaige in the classroom.
- Feedback
AI Developers
We
are looking for AI developers to submit their AIs. These will be
used in competitions posted on the website, and in some cases, being
distributed with Jaige. You may submit your source code if you
wish, but the source will not be distributed by Jaige. AI source
is not in subversion, but is available upon request, so keep that in
mind. Click on the Upload Your AI link to submit your creation.
Professors
I wanted to make something that students could
easily use and have their creations compete with each other. I
remember writing some games in college, and then writing the AI for the
games after spending significant time on the game itself. I
always felt that AI classes should be spent writing AIs and not
learning new languages or writing programs that lead up to the
development of an AI. Jaige is here to help focus on just that
point. Hex was one game I had as an assignment in my
first AI class. By the time I had gotten the game done, and an AI
that somewhat did something, I didn't have time to perfect it.
Jaige allows the students to focus on the AI development and provides
tools to help debug their AIs. Design help may also be offered at
a future point.
Feedback
I would love feedback, the constructive kind.
I admit that I am not the greatest web designer, nor am I the greatest
communicator. If you feel you can express my thoughts better than
myself, please do so! I'm sure there are plenty of things I have
overlooked on this site. I also welcome feedback on the games,
ideas, suggestions, etc. I want people to enjoy working on these
projects.
